Our first political education initiative befan on KKKanada day in so-called “British Columbia”.
A settler state built on genocide is nothing to celebrate!
The continuation of the state depends on on-going colonialism and genocide. Our first political education initiative began on KKKanada day. The persistence of the state is contingent upon the current ongoing practices of colonialism and genocide. Titled works ranged from an introduction to settler colonialism to works by Indigenous anarchist Tawinikay.
In recognition of the politically sensitive natured of the event, consent was sought from Indigenous vendors present, out of respect and humility. An elder replied, “any awareness is good awareness.” In the spirit of solidarity and good relation, we found it appropriate to make sure those most affected by were comfortable with the action at an event in which they were participating. This fosters good relationships and trust.
To be against colonialism is to be against colonialism everywhere. You cannot be against the high intensity genocide of Palestinians while ignoring ongoing genocide in your own state.
